ORIENT and ORIENT STAR

Founded in Japan in 1950, ORIENT is recognised worldwide for its high-quality, distinctive, mainly mechanical timepieces at affordable prices, combining original design with finishing touches from its own manufactory movements. ORIENT is already celebrating its 75th anniversary in 2025.

ORIENT STAR was founded in Japan in 1951, born from the desire to develop a mechanical watch that would become a "shining star" in every respect — including design, components and manufacture. In 2021 ORIENT STAR celebrated its 70th anniversary and continues to renew its technology as well as the design of its beautiful timepieces. Traditional craftsmanship skills, an in-house production system for high-quality mechanical movements, and original designs come together in these unique watches, made in Japan.

Orient Watches, an extraordinary story

Orient Watch is a watch manufacturer from Japan with a long history. The company was founded in Tokyo in 1950. Its history, however, dates back to 1901, when Shōgorō Yoshida, the founder, opened a watch shop in Tokyo. Orient focuses on classic design and predominantly mechanical movements. To this day, Orient manufactures its movements entirely in-house, in its own factory in Japan.

ORIENT and ORIENT STAR models are available in a wide range of categories: Sports Diver (also known as Mako/Kamasu) and M-Force (Raikou) for water sports enthusiasts and nature lovers, Sports Neo 70's revival, Classic and Simple Style — some models are affectionately known as Bambino — elegant Contemporary and Classic models, some also Semi Skeleton with an "open heart" at 9 o'clock, Multi Year Calendar, Sun and Moon, Avant-garde, Full, Semi, Modern and Layered Skeleton models, and the current Solar-powered models. Limited editions, such as the ORIENT STAR "Keshiki" series, inspired by the colours of sky and sea — "Keshiki" meaning "beautiful landscape" in Japanese. Most models offer a power reserve of 40 to, in some cases, 60 hours. More information on the models can be found in the respective Orient collections.

ORIENT Watch Co. Ltd. merged in 2017 with Seiko Epson Corporation, a strong company with a strong watchmaking tradition and a focus on precision engineering.
